Job Profile

Position: Controller ( Finance Executive / Accounts Executive / Management Accountant) :

Location: New Plant at Anand (Gujarat) (initial 2 – 3 months would be at Mumbai for Induction and Training).

1. OVERALL OBJECTIVE

1.1. Drive cost and cash competitiveness of production unit.

1.2. Drive sourcing and supply chain decisions from a cost point of view.

1.3. Develop and introduce appropriate performance measures behind relevant business processes.

1.4. Ensure that financial practices in production are in line with legal/tax requirements and FHP guiding principles.

2. KEY TASKS

2.1. ( Performance ) measures

Develop and introduce a consistent “reliability” measure.

Develop and introduce further key performance indicators for individual operations and total production site.

Initiate internal / external benchmarking activities.

2.2. Investment / savings

Run financial analysis of major investment projects and develop plant financial people to do so.

Verify major savings opportunities and establish a “close out” after execution of project.

Identify opportunities / weak areas in production through own investigations and take relevant action.

Establish investment/project tracking and auditing processes where relevant.

2.3. Product cost calculations

Fine-tune product cost calculation scheme to reduce the amount of commonly shared fixed cost based on effortisation, true costing principles and activity based costing methods.

Integrate “cost of complexity” into product cost calculations.

Adhere to IC pricing principles in line with internal/external standards and requirements.

Lead budgeting and cost review and reporting/tracking processes.

2.4. OP / ICA / LB

Ensure a common and clear way of presenting total production and individual plant planning figures.

2.5. Acquisitions

Integrate and harmonise newly acquired production sites ( and / or Joint Ventures ) to FHP standards via training and introducing FHP procedures and processes.

Establish first robust controlling tools until “standard” systems are in place.

Verify real cost picture versus acquisition economics / due diligence.

Seek for further cost savings/synergy opportunities.

2.6. Ensuring integrity

Review practices being not fully in line with financial and guiding principles with local organization and resolve issues.

In case of no alignment review with the EVP (RP) Production and finally with the EVP Finance.

Link financial procedures in production with the total FHP finance community.

Monitor purchasing/supplier contracts ( risks for FHP, continuous improvements, conflict of interest, ... ).

2.7. Organization development

Review performance of site finance people with local leaders ( plant managers ).

Support upgrades ( training, coaching, hiring, exchanges, etc. ).

Be a sounding board / mirror for the General Manager Production.

3. PROFILE

3.1. Background

Financial background preferably enhanced by an university degree.

3.2. Experience

More than 2 years in controlling FHP.

Having dealt with people from various countries.

Having successfully balanced local versus central interests.

3.3. Skills / attributes

Very broad knowledge of financial and tax implications in a production environment.

Putting complex matters into “easy” words and sentences.

Listening to concerns of others.

Providing “the right” information “in good time”.

Being able to prioritize ( e. g. low key monitoring , many parallel activities ) but becoming action oriented in case of a milestone date is in jeopardy.

Taking the initiative and acting “independently” ( = using entrepreneurial freedom ) in a given frame.

Successful team player ( i. e. getting full acceptance from various functions and hierarchical levels ).

Being able to find win-win situations even in difficult situations.

Sound PC application skills ( Excel, Windows, Data warehouses ).

English language ( fluently in speaking and writing ).

Good understanding of technical details based on explanations from experts.

Flexibility to move in medium term future.

To General Manager Producktion as far as the production task is concerned

Dotted line to EVP Finance

4.2. Employees reporting to Production Controller

Depends on production site and size.

Candidates Profile

Age – 25 to 30 years

Academic Qualification – B Com

Professional Qualification – ICWA / CA Final Pass ; Exceptional cases with Inter Pass can also be considered.

Work Experience

o 3 to 5 years in Finance and Accounting with exposure to Factory Accounting

o Working Knowledge of Excise, Customs, Sales Tax (VAT), Service Tax

o Working Knowledge of SAP (FI,CO) Modules

o Exposure to Product Costing

o Working Knowledge of MS Excel (Use of Formulas and Functions), MS Word, MS Powerpoint, MS Outlook

o Fluent in English : Writing, Reading & Speaking
